I'm just some dude

Hello. My name is Stephen James Kranz, and Walking for Vice President is my campaign to revolutionize politics in America. In this campaign, I live the life that I expect to see from those who hold our highest public offices: my life is dedicated to this cause, I keep public records of my personal finances, and I value my honor above any material treasure.

I am convinced:

• that it is entirely possible for us to create a world where all people thrive with an abundance of fresh air, clean water, healthy food, safe shelter, and
• that this world can be found by taking a peace-oriented path that offers respect even to those who may not respect us.
• and that this world can and will be made real, so long as we decide that we will be the ones to make it real.

The story of how the Walk came into being is a story of a dazzling dream, followed by a reduction in speed and an alteration of course.

What do I walk for? How would I use political office to effect change? What is my stance on the production, distribution and consumption of apples? Well, I'll tell you.

Early on in this journey, I read—and, in fact, memorized—the Declaration of Independence because I thought it would be useful. What really stuck was the final line where the signers, in support of the declaration, pledge their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor. It made me ask myself what would it mean for me to pledge my life, my fortune, and my sacred honor to my dream?
